And no, you can't sideways bring it up. If you can't talk about it straight on then why bring it up to only discuss how thats not what you meant. But then be slightly back peddlingly ruffled that you might be getting called a racist.
What or green friend needs to do is ignore this shit. Apologize for even falling for it. And then let his supports talk about the people who keep going there. Dirty politics only work when you get all worked up about it.
