Vulvapalooza Celebrates Students' Sexual Health Awareness
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -- Sexual Health Awareness Week at the University of Virginia will conclude with "Vulvapalooza" and an auction of a cake baked in the likeness of a certain part of the female anatomy.
The weeklong event of sexual whimsy and serious advice has included the distribution of condoms, a photo show with portraits of people with AIDS and HIV and sale of "safe-sex" music.
Marvin Gaye has been a particular favorite.
Activities conclude Friday and Saturday with performances of the play "The Vagina Monologues" and "Vulvapalooza" -- which will focus on sexually transmitted diseases, unwanted pregnancy, sexuality and the cake auction.
Del. Robert G. Marshall, often a critic of provocative campus activities, called the U.Va. activities "adolescent."
No more info on that but found out about V-Day while searching. Help end violence against women.
